The best Xiaomi phones don’t get much love from the media, even a large section of the tech world. Therefore, many people have not even heard of this Chinese brand. But there’s a lot to be said for attention.
Because while they don’t have the kind of branded cache like Apple or Samsung devices, you get great cameras, fast processors, gorgeous screens, and capabilities. Great connections for less real money. And for some people who don’t care about fashion, it could be more important!
However, choosing the best Xiaomi phone for you can be a confusing nightmare because there are so many. Even the number of devices with the name “Xiaomi” is huge. There are also many other Xiaomi phones under sub-brands including Mi, Redmi, and Pocophone.
To help you, we have selected the best Xiaomi phones. Or, should we say, the best you can buy in the West? For example, the Xiaomi 12s Ultra is not only the best Xiaomi phone but also the best camera phone our reviewer has ever used – but unfortunately, it is only sold in China and does not reach the world market.
Similarly, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is Xiaomi’s best foldable phone, but again, it is currently only available for the home market. And while the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has already been launched in China, the Western launch won’t take place until the scheduled February 26.
1. Xiaomi 12 Pro
This is probably one of the best camera phones.
Could you be asking yourself, should I buy a Xiaomi phone? Or are you confused about the best Xiaomi phone you can buy from the West today?
So look no further. Released in December 2021, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is the company’s most premium smartphone. For starters, we like the clean design, with nice curves and a nice finish on the back. We also like the 6.73-inch screen; High-quality LTPO AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, QHD (1440 x 3200) resolution, and up to 1500 nit in high brightness mode. Perhaps most importantly, he is a great performer. Qualcomm’s latest generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, when combined with 12GB of RAM, keeps things running smoothly and responsively. The triple-camera setup is also quite impressive, especially the main Sony 50MP IMX707 1/1.28-inch sensor, which lets in a lot of light.
The 50MP telephoto sensor and 50MP ultra-wide sensor don’t have that capability, which is a pity, but they still work well and there are plenty of shooting modes to choose from. The 32MP selfie camera is also a high-quality product. The only downside is that despite the built-in dustproof and waterproof features, it is not IP-rated. Overall, however, this is the best Xiaomi Camera phone available today.

2. Xiaomi 12T pro
The 12T Pro’s main advantage is its 200MP resolution, offering the same groundbreaking resolution as the much more expensive Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (opens in a new tab).
This produces a lot of detail, but its overall photographic potential is diminished by older and inferior secondary cameras.
The ultra-wide setting offers only 8 megapixels, and the tiny 2 megapixels of the macro lens are barely worth using. Still, it’s a good value phone, and its 120W charging speed is very beneficial for those looking for faster charging.

3. Xiaomi 12
If you want a more compact phone Xiaomi 12 Pro (number one on the list)), its sibling, the Xiaomi 12, is a great choice. It has a smaller screen size (6.28 inches) and is smaller and lighter overall, but still offers most of the same performance and specs.
The main differences lie In the screen resolution (1080 x 2400 versus the Pro’s much higher 1440 x 3200) and the second and third camera sensors (e.g. 13MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro lenses) versus 50MP + 50MP which is the configuration of the Pro version).
But both run on the same processor, the battery is almost identical, and both screens support HDR10+ and have a refresh rate of 120Hz. So for the lower price of the Xiaomi 12, if you like a smaller phone, it could be a hit.
It’s currently the best Xiaomi camera phone but also the smallest in size.

Plenty of deals, including a great selfie camera in its price range, a decent 108MP main camera, and a nice AMOLED display. On the other hand, the 4,300mAh battery is a bit weak, and our reviewer was unimpressed with the performance of the 2MP macro sensor. However, if it’s not a deal breaker, you get what you pay for with this great budget.
